<p>First organized chapter of the Gonzaga Law Alumni Association formed.</p>

<p>Gonzaga Law won the “Best SBA Project Award” by the American Bar Association Student Law Division for Conference on Unfair Trade Practices.</p>

<p>Smithmoore Myers begins his second term as dean of the law school.</p>
<p>Yakima Valley Legal Services Clinic was established in Granger, Washington, making it the first comprehensive clinical law program by Gonzaga University School of Law.</p>
<p>The Placement Office was established and the law school became a member of the National Association for Law Placement and charter member of Pacific Northwest Law Placement Consortium.</p>
<p>Gonzaga University School of Law awarded “Most Outstanding Student Project” by American Bar Association Student Law Division.</p>
<p>Gonzaga University School of Law was awarded the “Most Outstanding Student Project Funded by the ABA” for the 1974 National Symposium on Law and the Environment. This marked the first time in the history of the ABA that any law school received two first-place awards for the same project.</p>
<p>Gonzaga-in-Rio de Janeiro Summer Program was initiated by Gonzaga Professors Hardina Roe and Gerald Solk.</p>

<p>Father Frank Conklin was appointed the ninth dean of the law school.</p>
<p>The law school graduated sixty-three day division students in its first class.</p>
<p>Phase II of the law school building expansion was completed at a cost of $250,000 for the new wing (including “The Pit”) and $40,000 to remodel the existing area.</p>
<p>In August, the first edition of the Law School Student Handbook was printed.</p>
<p>The fall semester marked the beginning of the post-graduate study program, leading to the Master of Science in Commerce and Legal Studies.</p>
<p>The Gonzaga Child Development and Day Care Center was initiated with a $2,000 allocation by the Student Bar Association in the basement of the Holy Names Elementary School.</p>
